I had a wonderful day today.
I was the author du jour at ebooklove and I gave a way several items and shared excerpts and chatted up anyone who would deign to talk with me. LOL
Cathie, Debbie E, Jenny, and Robyn won things from me. I got to be happy for them, because I love to give things away, and my final message was BUY NOW!! LOL. I'm such a good advertiser. Anyway...
I have been instructed to tell everyone about the chat/fun day Jeigh Lynn and I are having on Thursday, Feb 2, 2006 in our group Nightsweats and would enjoy your attendance.
Come and be merry. I will be posting again tomorrow about this. Looking forward to it, actually. Maybe get Nightsweats moving. It's kind of a quiet group, but as we acquire more readers, the poor overworked writers don't have to try to hold up the conversation. LOL.
Okay, business. I am still waiting for word on Tree Sprite. That's normal. I'm not expecting anything yet. Also, I sent in Howling In The Moonlight today to my editor for submission consideration. This is the first of three werewolf stories, and is a multi attempted story. LOL, that's my way of saying it's been rejected several times. Either it will be accepted this time, or I do rewrites and try again. I don't give up.
I call the three book werewolf series Howling, for no other reason that each of the titles start with the word Howling. I'm so darned creative.
Anyway, I have been so busy writing the last week, that I have let my housework slide. It's showing too. I get to spend the day cleaning. Lucky me. Fifteen minutes at a time, I guess. It will either get done or not. But I will give it my best shot. If I can get it done, or at least looking like I started, I will be working on Enforcing Justice. I can't wait to really get into it.
I'm tired, have to pick one more name in 20 minutes to win something and then I'm going to drink some fat free milk (it does a body good) and go nighty-night.
Hopefully, you had a great day, unlike my youngest who has just been informed that her extra curricular activities will be curtailed until her room is clean, even though she has a competition SATURDAY, and I get to enforce this punishment. This is last ditch effort to get her to clean her room. We have been trying to get her to do it since the cell phone bill incident. She has done nothing, around here since that day. No cleaning, no assisting, no nothing. AMENDMENT: She did help the day we cleaned the dining room, and I appreciate it. But all the special chores she acquired, nothing. She now has incentive to clean her room. I hope.
*Sigh.* I just have to keep telling myself, "It ain't nuthin' but a thing." Occasionally though, the things get to be a pain.
On a good note, and this is a fun one, my oldest is trying to make some money for Drama. The idea is that if she doesn't say anything out loud for 72 hours, whoever pledged money has to pay. I think I will pledge $10. I don't think she has ever made it 7 hours before. And since I'm a good mother, I won't even count sleeptalking. But now, she is sick. Don't know what brought it on, but she is tossing cookies. I think it was keeping her mouth closed for 8 hours that did it. She will be fine, and luckily she knows enough sign language, and so do I, to get by. LOL
My son... I don't understand boys. I probably never will. They are insane. I admit that he is only being a typical boy, but good grief! How many times do you have to fart before you DON'T laugh. Oh yes, ladies... He will be 16 in March, and soon he will be ready to marry and move in with some poor unknowing woman and fart in her vicinity and laugh. Good luck to you. I will purchase a good gasmask for your wedding gift.
Does anyone else deal with these life difficulties, or are mine unique?
Hubby says only a few more years, and I will be wishing for these days back. I said... yeah right. Too much to do, too much I want to do, too little time. And I don't work out of home. I don't know how people who do, manage.
Okay, wish me luck... housecleaning tomorrow. Have I mentioned I hate housecleaning?
